Our Client had a platform, serving as a personal space for users, that helped them manage energy contracts, submit consumption requests, and analyse data in an accessible and easy way. However, the company was in need for improvements and maintenance support.
Seeking to improve and maintain a personal account functionality of the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system, our Client needed a solution to strengthen the existing team.
Altamira was up and ready to address the business need and immediately joined the project. We began with a deep dive into the Client’s technical requirements and business goals. The Solution

We focused on developing and refining features that supported user and managerial experiences within the platform.

- Consumption object management for users to create, approve, and bulk-manage consumption objects, allowing for streamlined energy usage tracking and forecasting.
- Automated request submission for monthly and daily consumption requests through a user-friendly interface, ensuring timely and accurate data input.
- Historical data integration for access to pre-registration consumption data, maintaining continuity and expanding data analytics capabilities. The users could view historical data for periods before their registration in the account, with the option to assign this data to existing approved objects.
- Analytics dashboard for users to gain real-time insights into consumption patterns through customisable charts and tables.
- Bulk and individual deadlines for clients to submit requests provided additional flexibility for both users and managers.
Process and execution
Altamira’s approach aligned perfectly with the Client’s preferred workflow – from project onboarding to execution.
Sourcing the right talent. By gathering detailed requirements on hard and soft skills, we identified the best candidates who could immediately contribute to the platform’s long-term goals.
Continuous documentation and transparency. Being dedicated to tracking the work progress, we offered the Client monthly reports outlining completed tasks and logged hours. On top of that, as a zero headache technology partner, we focus on transparent communication and never compromise on our accountability. That’s why bi-weekly status calls served as a forum to discuss progress, address emerging issues, and align on upcoming activities, ensuring that both parties remained on the same page.
Performance monitoring and feedback. Altamira hold quarterly reviews, coupled with monthly 1:1 feedback sessions to assess team members on their performance, work ethics, and involvement. In cases where performance dipped, Altamira implemented a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), providing clear objectives and timelines for improvement.
Team adaptation for long-term success. In the course of work, we clearly recognised the need to adapt our team composition as project requirements shifted. Our long-term plan, however, was to transition the initially assigned Senior Business Analyst to the Client’s upcoming projects and entrust the current project’s maintenance to another talented BA well-suited for existing tasks.
We hold targeted development and training courses once the new BA was appointed to guarantee the best results possible. Eventually, Altamira safeguarded continuity, avoided disruptions, and achieved the project’s long-term goals while maintaining high performance across all teams involved.
Flexible contracting. Initially, our partnership agreement was set up with six-month terms, allowing for regular adjustments to team size and workload as project needs changed. Such flexibility in contract terms proved invaluable over the 1.5-year partnership, supporting the successful launch of additional MVP development projects based on Client’s positive experience.
