The Client’s main goal was to create a simple and user-friendly application to recognise retail stores’ products. The goal was to streamline product management, facilitate product placement, reduce staff workload, and provide accurate, instant product information.  

Manual auditing of retail shelves is time-consuming and often subjected to mistakes, with an error rate as high as 20%. To address this challenge, it was decided to AI and implement image recognition technology to simplify product placement and stock tracking, offering retailers more accurate and dependable data to guide their business operations. 

Additionally, the solution should address the following challenges: 

  • Inefficient product tracking across multiple store locations. 
  • A lack of synchronisation between new products and their in-store availability. 
  • Low internet connectivity 

 

One of the biggest challenges was ensuring reliable synchronisation of product updates, especially in offline mode.
